Yup. Its that way in Rugby. Extra point is actually two extra points and the kick is taken parallel from where the Try(Touchdown) was scored.

I bet we will see a game lost because of a missed extra point (probably the goddamn saints). I like it like this though, sets up for more exciting endings, and we will see more teams go for 2 as well.

If you like the extra point becoming more a part of the game, I would agree.
For me, I don't really want games decided on extra points. I don't like it.
