I went to an Alamo Drafthouse a while back.
It's not that distracting with the waiters passing by. There are a lot fewer seats in the theater and the space between one row of seats and another is a little wider than normal. Plus, the waiters were very good at being unobtrusive.
I want to say it was about as bright as the average theater. I'm trying to remember if we got to the theater a little earlier than normal and managed to order our food and have it delivered before the movie started. Or maybe it was a 7:30 showtime and they started the movie 10-15 minutes later, so everyone could order and get their meals.
