well he refused to answer questions in the congressional hearing and then admitted usage 5+ years later, long after the original allegations. i wouldn't exactly give him a lot of credit for his openness and honesty. he also still made excuses for using them and said he didn't to help improve his performance, only to recover for injuries......i think people would view him differently if he said, "yeah i used steroids. it was just part of the culture of baseball at the time, and i wanted to maintain the same competitive advantage among my counterparts." it wouldn't make it more "right" but i think more people would appreciate that kind of honesty and "owning" it.
