Related--Any one have any recommendations for one or two Ryan Adams albums for someone who is just trying to get into his music?

He keeps popping up on my pandora streams, but I'd like a complete record.

It depends on what you're into. His records span so many moods and styles that it's hard to say. My personal list goes:

1.) Love is Hell (though it's probably his darkest record)

2A.) Heartbreaker
2B.) Cold Roses
2C.) Jacksonville City Nights

And every thing else is tied for third, depending on my mood. Except the self titled record. It sucks balls.

I can't argue with this. Not a big fan of the self-titled album but the above list is very strong. I would also add the Whiskeytown Strangers Almanac record. I've read he is not a big fan of his Whiskeytown work, but I love it.
