Worse in the Newsroom. West Wing was in your face Democratic leadership, but gave frequent fair voice to Republican ideology and on occasion pointed out very bluntly the flaws of liberal ideology. It was biased, but it was high quality and the preachy-ness wasn't too bad.
Newsroom is just an attempt to shite on Republicans by using a self-loathing moderate Republican who never expresses any real Republican tendencies. It's just pathetic by Sorkin and why a lot of West Wing lovers (like myself) hated it.

It was the perfect Sorkin device. He could give a weekly history lesson on the events of the previous few years and explain to us how we should have reacted and what feelings we should and should not have had.
It was that college history or sociology class that was really interesting until you realized that the teacher was insane and was infusing his personal world-view into every lesson.
