Only once ever, waaaaay back in the day. The setting was a TSOL concert at a place I'd never been to before called Goody's in Fullerton, CA. We were a fair-sized crew - my girlfriend, a few of our buds and their girlfriends, plus some friends of theirs who knew the band. This was cool since we got to meet and hang with the band a little while backstage.
So, showtime. The place was packed, and all over were these big signs that said "Absolutely NO Slam Dancing". Well as it turns out what that really meant was "No Moving Around AT ALL". There were probably half a dozen really big dudes in polo shirts stationed around the perimeter of the joint facing the crowd, who as it turned out were CS-Fullerton football players working security. I know what slamming is and what we were doing couldn't even remotely be called slamming - but sure enough maybe 30 minutes into the show a few of them waded through the crowd, grabbed three of us and walked us to the rear door and shoved us outside.
As I was being pushed out I could hear the TSOL singer going, "Hey, what are you doing to our friends, you fricking assholes?" Absolutely quality
The TSOL boys were good people.
