Teams put guys on waivers.
Other teams can claim said player.
Waiver order is worst to first by league. (NL waiver order is priority if NL guy is dropped)
If guy is claimed, his current team can:
1-Pull back the player (and he can't be put on waivers again)
2-Coordinate a trade that involves player
3-Just let player go to team and they absorb contract ( a la Alex Rios to White Sox a few years ago)
I think that's it.
