When I get pulled over, I tell them my paperwork is in my glove box and I have a loaded gun in there. They ask me to get out and they get it themselves. Never had an issue, even with NOPD.

If I have a long gun I don't worry about it. I don't think any policeman is too worried about me quick drawing him with my duck gun, and it's in plain sight so he already sees it.

Basically the same thing happened to me one time up in Jonesboro area. Got pulled over late one night. He asked for my stuff, and I told him it was in the console, but my 1911 was on the floorboard right in front. He got the gun, attempted to render it safe ( ) and then I got my paperwork. He appreciated it, and no ticket.

While he was fiddling with the gun, I asked him if he wanted me to unload it for him.
