To be honest, I ask these questions because I have no experience with southern louisiana culture. I grew up in central la and most of my college experience was in northern louisiana.
However, ever since I moved to BR, I want to know more about the schools and general employer/education relationship.
As for Tech, it has great engineering programs but I just no longer wanted to be in that environment. I have no issue with tackling hard topics, but I feel Tech takes an abrasive approach with some things. The

You didn't check on graduation rates, placement, and overall reputation prior to enrolling in graduate school? I have no experience with the SU engineering grad program but before I spent the $$, and more importantly, invested the time then those would have been given a much higher priority than "the experience."
