I can't believe PV directed it, but considering the fact that Starship Troopers came out 2 years later, I wouldn't say it ruined him.
And although I'd love for After Earth to have ruined Will Smith's career, I'll just have to settle for it most likely (hopefully) keeping studios from casting Jaden's little wacko dipshit arse in anything ever again.

I couldn't remember if Showgirls came before or after Starship Troopers. I don't think Verhoeven has done anything since then. He really needs to come back.
