Never followed up on it myself but I believe someone on this board mentioned how that was by designed. The guy just didn't care much for the spotlight or being a big movie star.

I wanted to submit Brendan Fraser to this thread, but then I couldn't figure out what movie would have killed him. Then I realized he only really had one big role in his career anyway (the Mummy, although I did like George of the Jungle as a kid).

Right - his was a "reverse" kill - in that Mummy made his career, and he didn't do anything else with it.

The "Mark Hamill" syndrome.
