Welcome.

As people have said, where to live in the BR area depends on a few things: where you have to commute to, what your price range is for a house/land, how much you like city vs country living, if you want (can afford) public or private schools for your kids.

We are north of Zachary in St Francisville. It is the 2nd or 3rd best public school system in the state, and Zachary is 1st. We are up here because, (1) we love the area with the rolling hills and plantations and small town feel, (2) I typically have to fly out of BTR (which is on north side of town) and don't drive to BR for work, and (3) we like country living and needed some acreage.

We are 35 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from LSU campus/most BR restaurants.

There are some nice neighborhoods around LSU, but pricey for what you get.

Where will you be working?

If you can handle the commute, this is the winner. Zachary may still have its own school district, but it is still in EBR.
