Zachary is nice. Ten minutes from downtown BR, awesome schools, a few really nice neighborhoods. Actually has a community feel and a nice little downtown area. Every school is brand new or newly remodeled.
Americana is getting Gigabit Internet service if that is your thing.

Zachary, Central, or St Francisville, or Prarieville if public schools are important.
Unless you get your kids into Magnet programs in the city those are the best bets
