Compared to my old roomba, the neato has more powerful suction and I much prefer how it follows a pattern to clean the entire room. Roombas just bounce around the house like a damn pinball so you don't really know if they clean everything. The only drawback is my neato has scuffed my baseboards in a few places where it got stuck in a tight jam. Might have more to do with a shitty paint job on the baseboards than the roomba though.

No coffee table and concrete floors with an open floor plan with only one rug so this would be pretty badace.

Thanks for the feedback, y'all.

It is great for pets.
Neato better than Roomba.

i've fallen out of love with my xv21.

we have a MCM thing going on at our house so there are several shag rugs and it gets up on top of them & dies.

i've tried the little magnetic thingie, but it didnt come with enough of it to keep the vac off the rugs.

the xv21 likes to 'fight' against the damn magnetic thing probing for a weakness..it will evenutally find where the magnetic thingie ends and immediately go up on the shag again.

other than that, i've noticed its not so good on hardwood debris right against the base trim. it looks like that newer model in the OP has an extra 'spinner' on each end to help rake that into the bin.

if i didnt have such a HUGE open floor plan i might be able to keep it from the rugs but its just impossible.

the li'l fella just wants to clean everything.

i will say it gets some dirt up! that thing is full of pet hair every time i open it.

eta here's what i mean about the rugs and the open area
