I think that the actors are at a loss because they signed on for an "indie" version of the FF. The studio wanted an edgy, young vision from the director of Chronicles. Then when they got what they asked for they reshot it and turned into just another superhero happy meal movie (or so it seems at this point).

They're basically promoting a movie that they were told was broken and needed fixing. That's a tough sell for young actors.

I think that it was easier for Paul Rudd, since he's got a long track record and he's had to promote shitty films. Easier for him to promote a film that changed direction mid-stream. Ant-Man came out better than some of his films that had zero changes by the studio.

Now I'm interested in seeing the original version, I've heard really, really good things about Chronicle.
