re: Why is there such a dry period from June to September in games

It's the end and beginning of the video game and developer fiscal year I believe. Not only that, but there's no real holiday to have a huge temporary boost in sales for. No point in releasing big games in a time where there's really not as big of a demand for it, as counterintuitive as that sounds.
