Exactly. No fun is a childish excuse. There are plenty of kids who would kill for that spot and have fun doing it

It's amazingly childish. And, Byrd comes from a good family. It doesn't make sense.

The original report was that he wanted a guaranteed starting spot. I thought that was out of line for a guy who hasn't shown yet that he deserves that. But, at least that made a little bit of sense. You can chalk it up to a business decision.

But, to himself come out and say he just wasn't having fun? Like you said, that's amazingly childish and I'm very surprised by that nobody in his inner circle set him straight and pushed him to overcome the challenge or at least keep him from admitting that he couldn't handle it emotionally. Byrd comes across very negatively due to his own comments.
