He's been on the record in film and in interviews that he did.

Now? For sure. Absolutely.

About the time of Sergeant Pepper? Probably starting to brew (is he, is he not of John and Paul´s calibre?).

Remember, there was jealousy there, as well (George was a latent threat to both Paul and John).

What Harrison penned tunes did make it to Beatles albums, were nearly always absolutely sublime (and some of his, some of their best known, despite he maybe having done 2-3% of their work).

It took post Beatles stuff for Paul to start respecting George as a musician.
