reason why it's retarded: 1. The football at its highest point is uncatchable by any player. The ball is on the way down when the receiver is jumping up to get it.

When they say this it's "He went up and got the ball at the highest point." Means the highest point of the player's jump.

The way you worded it makes sense.

I see what Pete is saying if someone says, "its highest point."
