There's actually articles on that very site that have the opposite opinion. Here's one LINK, albeit it's a interview with a crossfitter who is also a PT.

That said, there's some published studies out there that show crossfit's injury rates are no higher than other sports and activities.

I don't think it's been around long enough to really conclude the negative effects, but all I'll say is usually injury prevention has as much to do with supervision as it does with programming. I wholeheartedly disagree with doing Olympic lifts for time, that I will take to the grave, but beyond that I think crossfit can be just as safe as anything else with proper supervision.
