No one actually know when it is releasing. It would be Holiday 2016 at the earliest. Considering how bad the Wii U sales are, they can abandon it quickly.

I really think Nintendo should have backed off and made a Wii U without the gamepad if it isn't needed and put the pro controller with it for cheaper, then move the gamepad to an accessory. A big problem that Nintendo has had with the U is the price point for the console. I've wanted one since they released but refuse to pay 300 for a console that I want to play a handful of titles on.
