The room is the key to proper surround sound. A shitty room can be impossible to create a proper sound field in.
I'd throw Adcom amps into the mix with Rotel. The GFA series of amps is solid and well priced. The step up from there and it's a big step would be to Bryston amps. Outstanding quality and warranty comes from Bryston.

Thanks for the suggestion. No doubt Bryston is the next step up along with McIntosh but I'm thinking those will come at a later date. Still have plenty of earning years left to acquire those lines hopefully.
