The second play of those three straight off tackle plays was a zone read. LSU ran the ball better when Jefferson was the QB. The defense had to account for his running ability, the career leading rusher of LSU QBs.

LSU's offense scored four TDs. Jefferson worked the option and the zone read, AND Jefferson threw a TD pass and NO interceptions. I'm sure his Georgia counterpart wished he had fewer turnovers in the SECCG.
