hopefully it means a fairer shake for the Steroid Era...

IMO you let them all in or none of them in

Right now none of the steroid era players are being voted in which is fine I have no issue with that. But if you vote in one, you have to vote in all the rest.

So if someone like David Ortiz gets voted in, and Bonds/Clemens/McGwire and all the rest are still not in the hall, it destroys the credibility of the hall.

The moment the first steroid linked player gets in is when all the steroid era players with HOF worthy credentials MUST be voted in as well.

It's perfectly legitimate to leave out steroid guys based on the morality clause in the voting criteria. But it's up to the individual voter how to interpret that. Some voters, like Ken Rosenthal, aren't voting for steroid guys right now but haven't ruled out voting for them in the future. He just doesn't feel comfortable doing that right now and that's his prerogative. Myself, I wouldn't vote for proven PED guys but I couldn't hold it against a player if he's just a suspected PED user.
