I have many many times as I used to tournament fish. The problem is when targeting bass I usually fish in 10-20 feet of water. When shallow water fishing I don't want to stay in one spot. I'm not saying it doesn't have its place if I fished a lot in tidal situations but even with that I use a trolling motor.
