re: Trying to get rid of Roy King

The current Dean and his predecessor, as well as the current Director of Bands and his predecessor all had ill feelings towards Tiger Band . Applied faculty and tenured professors have had many of the same attitudes. This is nothing new; it's been going on for years. It stems from a desire for power and control of $$$$. Roy has worked tirelessly with the athletic department and donors to uphold the TRADITIONS that have made the Tiger Band world famous. I know Roy personally and believe me, he has the best interests of LSU at heart. Another thing. The mere "talk" of Academic Exigency has been enough to dissuade some students from my state from more seriously considering LSU. LSU has always been a weird combination of excellence and financial mismanagement. Hopefully this situation works out best for LSU and those who really have a history and love for TGBFTL.
