Trying to get rid of Roy King

LSU has once again hired a Dean who hates marching band. The last Dean did everything he could to take down Tiger Band and now Dean Queen is following in his footsteps. His first act is to try and get rid of Roy King. Roy has had to do more with less since the former Dean took Tiger Bands donated funds, Dean Queen also believes that money donated to Tiger Band should be under his control to use as he wishes for the School of Music. In order for him to gain control of the funds, Roy must go.
Tiger Band is known around the country, seen on ESPN, traveled to Dublin for the St. Patrick's Day parade and made the whole state proud! LSU alum or not, people love Tiger Band. I hope the alumni and fans of Tiger Band can rally around Tiger Band and stop the Dean in his tracks.
Dean Queen leave Tiger Band alone!!

I refuse to believe LSU would hire someone who hates golden band from Tigerland.
If so.
FML and everybody elses.

Can you explain this a little bit more?

Name calling will definitely strengthen your position.
ETA: My bad. Thought you were just calling the guy a name.

Roy King is terrible anyway.

I'm older than Roy, but a Tiger Alum as well. I know Roy very well, and like him immensely. He works constantly to keep the great tradition of Tiger Band alive and well. I hope he gets the support he deserves.

If King goes, how will I get that Latin flair I so desperately need at halftime?

Tell us more about this Queen.

So you're like a tiger band fan, eh?

Can you explain by "Doing more with less?" Not trying to start anything, but trying to get a clearer understanding of that statement so I can form an opinion.
I love our band and appreciate them very much. Does seem the last few years our halftime shows are not as original or more like repetitions of past shows, but I could be wrong. I was in the band in high school and made a mistake by not getting in Tiger Band when I was in college. When I was an assistant principal, I was over fine arts and became very familiar with how shows are designed and the background of the administration of a marching band. I may be way off, but that is the perception that I get from other alumni.
But I do enjoy listening to Roy King promote the band at the TAF parties in the PMAC. He looks to be very proud at being the director and enjoys showing off the band.

Of course Queen wants to get rid of King. How else will Queen become top monarch?

I was in TGBFTL and the last few years have been the most boring half time shows since I have been alive. I barely even watch. Maybe the Dean is trying to find someone who understands original half time shows that excite the crowds like Ohio State vs. going in the file cabinet and pulling out the Maliguina charts again.

Dr. Llinas should step up. He's a killer song and show writer.

I'm a TB alum from the 80's. I have never met Roy King but, I strongly support the work that he done. There has always been a conflict between the School of Music and TB. This is nothing new.

They're seriously Dean Queen and Director King?

I shall reserve judgement until other JUMAS Bros. chime in.

I like Roy a lot. He's a good showman and recruiter but it seems like directing the massive Tiger Band is too big for him. There's no doubt the halftime shows have been on a decline. The quality of the marching, too. Partly because there are no more Tiger Band members who had Linda Moorhouse as a director. Disrespecting Linda Moorhouse and making her walk is the biggest travesty in LSU's academic history.

Good. He's not a bad guy but I don't believe he's taken the program to where it needs to be.
