Appreciate all the input. I'll be hiring a skipper/captain, had planned on a full crew, but now that I've looking into it a little more I'll pass on that.
One of the guys going has been several times and talked about snorkeling under the boat to get fish to cook for dinner. He says it's illegal, but "everyone does it" Dont know how I feel about this. haha. I have no problem delving into frowned upon activities, but not when I don't know how the local law enforcement is, and this particular friend has a problem with exaggeration, so should I believe him, or just stay away from something like that?

we had a captain and a deckhand...the deckhand was his wife and she happened to be a professionally trained cook. We'd just give them a little grocery money and while we were ashore they'd go get some things to cook. We were in Italy for almost two weeks and her cooking was probably the best we'd had in all of Italy. Not sure if that scenario is common for charters, but I'm sure majority of them can cook well enough...I'd probably shy away from poaching fish if it is in fact illegal.
