That would make the most sense, but ESPN/ABC doesn't think logically sometimes. They're trying to capitalize on getting the most viewers for each game. Most people are going to be watching after 3:30 so if they put the two biggest games on then, they're going to get more casual viewers for both games than if they put one at 12.
This doesn't consider the hard-core viewer, which nationally, there aren't that many.
ESPN does this all the time. Week 3, they're putting USC-Stanford at the same time as Alabama-Ole Miss. Morning games suck (Illinois at North Carolina best matchup)
