Word diversity employed primarily for the purposes of rhyming does not equate to high quality diction and storytelling.
Anyone who thinks that any of the four artists listed above Dylan (Eminem, Jay Z, Tupac, and Kanye) are superior storytellers, greater lyricists, or more astute songwriters, needs to carry their arse to the liquor store and kill off the few remaining brain cells that they have left.
Each of the four artists is talented in their own right and I would contend that they are some of the best poets of the past 50 years, but, again, to even intimate that they are better lyrical craftsmen than the most renowned musician of the 20th century is ridiculous.
I can use a thesaurus too, that doesn't make me a better writer than Shakespeare.

Really only Tupac rises to the level of "artist" in that group, although Marshall flirts with it at times. Technically, he is a very adroit "rhymer" - and to freestyle one has to develop a good vocabulary for rhyming's sake.
Jay-Z made a career out of saying, "Yeah" on collaboration records. Watch Kanye speak on any subject - he's an idiot and a narcissistic one, at that.
Dre's pretty smart, as are Ice-T and the Simmons brothers - but that's getting pretty old school, though. None of the young guys is very impressive (not that I pay all that much attention anymore).
