While you can call a lot of BS pretentious, I don't get that vibe from "Rosalita" -- in fact that's probably the lightest thing he ever did
Seger is a strange case -- I like a lot of his '60s stuff, but he got more and more pompous as he got more famous; eventually ("Old Time Rock & Roll", "Fire Lake", "Turn The Page") he became unbearable. He ironically began to sound like a Springsteen imitator -- despite the fact that he came first.
