JJ is from Thibodaux and helped put himself through LSU medical school by fishing for wahoo in tournaments across the gulf. Many thought he was a cheater, but has always passed the polygraph tests! He was just a damn good fisherman.

He fished 300 miles from Orange Beach last weekend and actually lost a big marlin Friday morning-pulled the hook. He fought the 716 lb blue on 80 lb stand up tackle Saturday morning for 5.5 hours then it took them 45 minutes to get it in the Freeman.
Yes, he tried to get fuel at Port Eads, but pumps malfunctioned and had to go to Cypress Cove, then blast to OB. Ran the Yamahas like scalded puppies???? and made it with 20 minutes to spare.

He's an honest man, a damn good fisherman, and one helluva surgeon --he's cut on me 3 times--I trust him with my life!!!!
He deserves the respect and the $$$ they won--$266k.

He loves the sport and the competition and represented Louisiana in the winners circle-hats off to him and his crew!

How are you a good offshore fishermen? I've only been once I have no idea on targeting offshore fish or tournament winning ones for the matter.
