Montreal was among the league leaders in attendance in the 1980s. They have a rich baseball history dating back to their time in the minor leagues.
Montreal is big enough for baseball and so is Vancouver. The NBA never should have left Vancouver for Memphis. But baseball is very popular in British Columbia.They have town ball and leagues for college kids in BC. The weather is good for baseball in BC from Feb to October.
New York and New Jersey could support another team as well and it would be more fair for other teams to have the Yankees and Mets face competition in their market.
I don't see baseball coming to Nashville, Charlotte, New Orleans, or Birmingham or any other city like that in the South.
