I would ride a train from Mandeville to New Orleans if one was built. Based solely on my own selfish reasons, that should be higher priorty over one linking to NO to BR.

$44 from Bham to NOLA on AMTRAK. I wish there was a high speed rail from DC to Houston, hitting the major stops in the SE.

$10/ticket was being thrown around when the plan was first floated. If it was clean and safe it would be great. BR needs to greatly improve CATS and build the downtown to LSU streetcar/BRT route for it to even have a shot at being successful. NOLA could improve its public transit, but it is miles ahead of BR.
