Lets be honest this has everything to do with people stumbling into Whataburger at 3am trashed and looking for drunk food

Waffle House already has a corporate ban on weapons in it's restaurants.
What is missing from this discussion is that the decision to ban open carry but allow conceal carry is all about emotion, not safety.
In Texas those who choose to open carry must possess the same permit that those who choose to conceal must possess. You pass the same background checks, take the same training and hold the came state issue card to carry. So it's fine to hide the fact that you have a firearm because someone who sees it may be irrationally upset by it being visible. That's BS.
