If there was only some outlet of information that would release information like this so people could prepare accordingly other than social media....

Here's the lineup for this weekend (Friday, July 10-Monday, July 13), according to the DOTD:

The left lane on eastbound I-10 from just north of Gause Boulevard to the West

Pearl River bridge near the I-10 welcome center will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Monday.

The left lane on westbound I-10 through the same area will be closed from 6 p.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All lanes will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on those days.

The left lane of eastbound I-12 between the I-59 overpass and the I-10/I-12 merger will be closed from 3 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Monday.

The right lane of southbound I-59 from the I-10/I-59 split to just south of the rest area will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

DOTD has recommended U.S. 90 through Slidell and into Mississippi as the main alternative route for people seeking to avoid the I-10 construction zone.

Well the house was rented before all of this. Many people, my wife included, used all available outlets and information. And even with said information it took her over 7 hours to get to Mobile. So what is your point?
