It may be time to bring back passenger rail service.
Yeah, it takes longer, but you enjoy the trip in more comfort. Since that is absent, and since the airlines have nickeled and dimed everything to death, I will simply drive as long as I am stateside.

You haven't rode a train in a while, have you? My family did a couple train trips recently. It takes a long arse time, we'll call the clientele not the best in the world, and it's not like it's insanely cheap.
Driving is great, until you remember your own car nickle and dimes you to death, especially if you're pumping a thousand plus miles on that sucker in a week period.
