Maybe, but my money has him doing a lot of what he did last year, which was sitting toward the end of the bench getting to know Shortess and Eddlestone.

he has the size to do it. but he demonstrated poor hand eye coordination and was physically slow as a freshman. he needs the game to slow way down for him to be effective.

There's more to rebounding than being big. It's about positioning and ability to attack the ball. I don't think he will get to 10 rebounds very many games. His offensive game also has a lot of holes right now, but he could get there. I'm hopeful for the big man.

if he can keep his weight around 270-280 with our perimeter players it will open up the middle. I do not know about double double but 8 pts and 5-6 reb per game is serviceable. if he or darcy can pose any type of threat in the middle this team will have a legitimate shot at reaching the final 4 as long as JJ does not mess it up. if elbert and darcy can combine for 15 pts and 10 reb a game combined the perimeter with Simmons, Victor, Hornsby, Patterson, Quarterman and Blakeney is scary. most of these guys will require double teams to stop which will spread the floor and allow for a lot of fun basketball. I am stocked this year it is going to be exciting

Not even close. Very little basketball skill. Very little quickness and average hands. If we can get 10-15 mins and 4 ppg 4 rpg this coming year I would be very happy .

Got to chat with his best friends parents the other day. He is really excited about this year and says coach jones expects big things from him.

It would be a God-send, but IMHO he'll have to transform physically by leaps and bounds.

He just seemed to me last year to be very slow and labored in his movements, even for a kid of his size. And he lost a lot of weight coming in.

Certainly there are drills and things one can do to improve agility and quickness, but there is only so much one can do in that area.

Basketball is trending away from the plodding big man. I think a big man can still impact today's game but I do believe that the modern big man has to be able to move his feet. Elbert has a long way to go in that regard.

I hope he can get there.
