When does everyone think MLS says no more expansion

The league is already pretty big with 20 teams which is about the max for most first divisions in the world.
We still have on deck LA, ATL, Minn and Mia which brings us to 24 teams. Then you still have STL, San Antonio, Sacramento, Vegas Indy and Austin all trying to get a team.
Eventually there is a point when the league is not sustainable for the amount of teams and it dilutes the talent pool.
Even though the owners have said no chance on promotion relegation if the league gets damn near 30 teams might as well push it to 36 and have an MLS and MLS 2 under the same structure.

I pray to god that we get to 40 teams, and implement a 2 division system.

Most first divisions in the World are not in the United states. As long as the TV revenue/gate can be supported I dont think they will stop for a while. Plenty of room to grow into bigger and better national TV and media contracts and those are maximized through having franchises in good media markets. This isnt Europe no matter how many folks want it to be or try to compare the situations. I dont ever think there will be relegation between and two or more divisions. Large population with a high percentage of disposable income per captia.

Most other professional sports in USA have over 30 so I think we will get to that number then decide whether to try divisions or stick with the 30-32 teams.
