ETA: go with the 36/112. You shouldn't out a 24/80 on a 21ft boat. Wind > 5kts is gonna blow that thing around like a buoy.

I'll tell you fricktards this. You're right about the older steel shaft MG's. I had the first run of the SW 75 on my 18' Kenner. Thing was a beast. Never one issues and i chopped up oyster reefs,beat up causeway pilings,tore thru hydrilla like nobody else. The composite fiberglass/carbon shafts are where it's at. I have no experience with the new I series MG's but would not hessitate to pick it over the Ipilot.
I've seen at least 6 newer model Minn Kotas crap out or break shafts on peoples boats. shite,Capt. Dumas has snapped 3 shafts on his Minn Kotas in the last 7 years alone.
