I liked Avatar but i heard mix reviews for Korra. How does the TD board feel about it?

I tried watching it and couldn't get through the first season because of how big of a bitch Korra is.

Apparently, it is an adult version of TLA.

I've never heard anything remotely close to that.

By the end of the final season, I heard it gets very dark.

If give her another chance if I were you. The first two seasons, Korra can be a bitch, but she really turns into the best character of her own show (save perhaps Varrick). Korra had the opposite arc of what Aang did. While Aang's arc was all about accepting himself as the Avatar and stop running from a duty he never asked for, Korra's overall arc is more accepting herself for who she is outside of the Avatar role because she's completely consumed by this fact.

Seasons 3 and 4 sure as hell are and it got taken off of the air because of it. They clearly took a lot from Game of Thrones in the final two seasons. Pretty much every episode in Season 3 you think to yourself "How the hell did Nick allow them to get away with this?!" The final episode makes it pretty clear that it was cancelled over the mature content rather than the ratings.
