The snapper population was not impacted, and its resurgence is mostly due to reduction of shrimp boats in the gulf due to Katina, Bp, high gas prices, cheap imports etc as Shrimp nets account for 90% of juvenile snapper mortality. LINK

Trout are great some areas suck in others.

The Charter Boat guys in Mississippi I know are still hurting. Most I have spoken too claim they lost 25% to 40% of their customers. I know at least 3 that have yet to get a cent, and three guys that bought boats and licenses that year and they will never see a penny. Some people made out like bandits, while other got screwed as always.

I agree with you guys on the media, and government, but don't buy the BP shite either. They are such bastards Putin threw them out of Russia.

I was feeling Ok about it until a few months ago I talk to a few old timers I know. Theseguy catch more fish than almost any one on here as they have lived on the water here since 1700, as their families came over with Bienville, they are retired and fish about every day (Plus they freaking ignore catch limits) They are like swamp cajuns to us.

They went off for a half hour about how fricked up everything is, flounder are not where they should be, etc etc etc. shite that you and I would not noticed because we have not fished 3-5 times a week in same spots for last 300 year. Again, the simple truth is we don't know yet.

Watch the Killie fish aka cochoes .
