where else can you get venison, rabbit and deep fried poboys all on one menu? that's unique in and of itself. if you don't enjoy the food, that's one thing, but calling it not unique is disingenuous.

I know quite a few people who are locals that dine out often who frequent this place. Your premise is simply not true. Yes it's a great tourist spot due to it's unique atmosphere, but plenty of locals love it as well. Although I don't get to frequent many restaurants lately due to time constraints, I have been to quite a few places over the years that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I find the food here excellent, although there are things that they don't do well. I wouldn't hold it against someone for not liking it, nor should anyone hold it against me for enjoying it. It's called taste and preference. Some on these boards forget that and feel that a place they don't enjoy ought not be enjoyed by anyone else. That's most certainly pretentiousness.
