I guess IMAX turned it more into an experience instead of just watching another movie

i saw it in a regular theater when i was out of work traveling opening night. it helped me put together the plot and comprehend what was happening.

then i went with friends a few days later to see it in IMAX and didn't have to worry about the plot, just soaked it all in. much much better experience.

the score was too loud, but i felt that added to the immersion. but... the it was effing perfect in every way. docking and ending scene scores were two of the most perfect i've ever heard.

Any movie that makes me ponder existence like that is good in my book.

I have a hard time even lingering on thoughts about the father-daughter dynamic.

"wow" is basically what I thought and said throughout the movie

The score was WAY too loud IMO, but I think I read somewhere (maybe even an article linked on this board) that Nolan did that intentionally at times during the movie. But certain scenes (like the docking scene) were so loud that it was actually distracting for me and almost hurt my ears.

That being said, the score was great though. I just wish the volume had been turned down a bit. And for reference, I saw it at the IMAX in Baton Rouge (which isn't really a true IMAX, but it's still pretty awesome).
