As for steakhouses, here's a good article/map.
Lots of chains in the top 20. Harry Caray's is not listed as a top 20, but it's fantastic, and local. Very close to Hubbard street so you could do a bar crawl before or after dinner.
Also, a lot of celebrities go to Chicago Cut. So that's pretty good.
