It bugs me that dumb people are raving about how "brilliant" he is (forcing "big words" into a spot where a "regular" would would suffice does not automatically make a writer "brilliant). So I guess I"m hating on him in that regard. I won't even get into him out-Fitzgeralding F. Scott Fitzgerald by averaging 4.3 commas per fricking sentence.

And I also stand by the fact that he's basically being a trapeze artist for 4,000 words and bending and anecdoting and "struggling" visibly to act like he's wrestling this great dilemma.... but in the end "God hates figs" is what he gives us.

It's really the most annoying thing I've ever seen on Facebook - his theatrics, the arse-kissing by all the born agains and conservative football fans who buy into it, and ultimately the retarded conclusion that he comes to "as hard as I try, the Bible still says this is a sin and so it's a sin".

But he has a right to disapprove of gay marriage and stupid people have a right to "like" it, and Peter King has a right to hire Benjamin Watson to write for his crappy MMQB site when he retires in 4 years.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody remember both Ernie Conwell and Heath Evans pulling this same crap with the Saints? They both came in and immediately annointed themselves as some "conscious of the franchise" and it just bugs me. I know that some of you got annoyed with Heath Evans, but does anybody else remember Conwell doing this crap?

OK, someone link me his comments. No way that's the message he put out there.

You realize you can hide anything related to Watson from your facebook feed.

Okay so his grammar (which is still much better than many NFL players) annoys you. Cool.

If that's what you got out of it, your reading comprehension sucks. Saying homosexuality is a sin or that God disapproves of it does not mean "God hates figs." Again, you're resorting to hatred when someone shares an opinion you disagree with.

First off, it's Facebook. So you're gonna have dumb people responding to most stuff like this. If you let some Facebook comments upset you, you need to rethink your priorities. Second, it just seems like you're trying to find reasons to be upset just because you disagree with him.

I'm not saying he's "brilliant" but in no way shape or form did he use "big" words that should have been replaced by "regular" words.
It appears, if anything, you have a problem with the limitations of your vocabulary.
Although I don't have the same opinion as him, it's a very well written post. At no point was he rambling on with bloated exposition. The commas were a bit much but I think he wanted the reader to pause to digest his narrative.
