There are those who believe it symbolizes the true soul of the U.S. better than Old Glory. Because it represents many of the same ideals that led us to split from Britain in the first place. Low taxes, individual rights, states rights, small central government....etc.

They don't fly it in rebellion, to them it's become a second U.S. flag.

That is how it isn't traitorous.

Notice I said those and them, not I.

All flags have atrocities committed under their snapping in the breeze. It time we all calmed down about symbols. People are freaking the frick out over nothing right now.

Has anyone else paid attention to media coverage? I haven't seen the faces of the people who died, or heard them talked about in length or depth, since the Sunday after it happened. Only talk on racism, flags, and monuments.

I only get my news from Tigerdroppings. It amazes me we have so many people crusading to get these symbols removed. Not sure I remember a thread on the subject in the past year.

Wrong.

The battle flag's resurgence of popularity coincided with the civil rights movement.

It was an act of defiance against the Federal government who was forcing desegregation on us.
