Switched up the terminology on myself. 
So yeah, betting on your team is slightly better than betting on the other team. But it's also like 1a and 1b. Once you have a manager betting on games it's much easier for outside forces to control the games. It's a huge slippery slope because you don't know who else that manager could end influencing
