My reply from a previous Phoenix thread:
Okay. I'm on my laptop now, so I can access a similar thread on another board that I posted when I was traveling out there. Here are some quality recommendations:
Lolo's Chicken and Waffles is really good.
As I mentioned, Barrio Cafe was probably my favorite meal while there.
Angel's Trumpet Ale House is a really nice modern gastropub with good beer selection and good food.
Pizzeria Bianco was mentioned by someone else, and it's really solid. The woodfire pizza thing is, obviously, everywhere now. These guys have been doing it for a long time and have won a lot of awards and received a lot of press, though. Great lunch spot, imo.
Chino Bandido combines Chinese with Mexican. I didn't eat here, but I've heard good things and it looks interesting. Probably a lunch spot.
Fry Bread House if you want to try some "native" food. I didn't get to eat here, either, and I wish I would have since it's actually indigenous food. Anyway, it's probably a lunch spot as well.
Matt's Big Breakfast for breakfast. Duh.
