re: ESPN - "LSU could be a national title contender"

I think people are underselling just how awful Anthony Jennings was last season. Here's his line:

111/227, 1611 yards, 7.1 YPA, 11/7 TD/INT, 118.33 RATING

He ranks 86th in passer efficiency, and failed to rank in the top 100 in yards/game or in TD's thrown. And even with QB play that was among the worst in all of D1, LSU went 4-4 in the toughest conference in America. If LSU even gets competent QB play, and I don't mean good or even above average, just competent, in the Arkansas and Bama games, LSU wins the SEC West (with a 6-2 record, we would've taken the tiebreakers)

Think about that. Despite posting near historic levels of QB incompetence, LSU was on the cusp of winning the SEC West. That's how good the rest of the team is.
